U14s end season as county runners-up

Louth Hockey Clubs U14s ended their season on a real high as runners-up in the county championship!!!!!
They were second placed behind Long Sutton after a series of monthly tournaments which started in September.
The achievement is even greater given that Louth have one of the smallest squads in the county.
Last Sunday (May 14) they played their final tournament of the season in Long Sutton and played well, with three wins, two draws and one defeat.
Louth’s first game was against Spalding Tigers, one of the better teams at the tournament. Spalding ran out 3-0 winners in this game.
Following that, Louth beat Lindum A (Lincoln) 3-0 with goals from Ross Armstrong (2) and Max Greenfield with one.
Two 0-0 draws followed that game with one against Bourne Deeping and one against a very strong Long Sutton side – the only points the eventual champions dropped.
Next, Louth faced Horncastle A. The game didn’t start well for Louth as Horncastle were awarded a penalty stroke early on. Fortunately for Louth, keeper Ollie Trotter saved it to keep the score 0-0. Louth pushed forward and grabbed two goals from Ross Armstrong.
Louth’s final game came against Sleaford Movers. Goals from Max Greenfield, Ross Armstrong and Nick Short gave Louth a deserved 3-0 win in their final game of the tournament.
Overall this season, Louth finished second in the A league with many players improving over the season. The team comprised: Nick Short, Ollie Trotter, Esmee Trotter, Archie Hulance, Branden Blackburn, Max Greenfield, Ross Armstrong, Ishasha Stewart.
