As part of its ongoing commitment to working with local communities, Taylor Wimpey East Midlands has recently donated £1,000 towards a new astroturf pitch at Louth Hockey Club’s home ground.
Louth Hockey Club is well-established in the area, having been up and running since the late 1950s and welcoming over 140 members from across Lincolnshire. With a wide variety of hockey teams, from the Introductory Team all the way to the Ladies’ and Men's first division teams, there are opportunities for players of every skill and at any age to get involved. The club is raising funds towards the new pitch at its London Road home, which is used by football and hockey players from the Louth area.
Commenting on the support received from Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, Lesley Ward, Chairperson of Louth Hockey Club, said: “We’re so grateful to Taylor Wimpey for their generous donation. Everyone at Louth Hockey Club is incredibly driven to help fund the replacement astroturf and their support means a lot to every club member. On behalf of the whole club, I’d like to say a big thank you. Everyone here is so passionate about hockey so it’s wonderful to get the support from a well-known company such as Taylor Wimpey.”
Rob Curry, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, said: “We pride ourselves on supporting the local communities in which we build our high-quality, new homes. It’s important to us that we give back to local organisations so we’re delighted to donate to Louth Hockey Club. It’s uplifting to know that we’re helping to make a difference to this well-known sports club.”
The donation towards Louth Hockey Club is just one of the many contributions being made by Taylor Wimpey towards community facilities and infrastructure in the wider area. To find out more about the charities and causes that Taylor Wimpey works with visit, www.taylorwimpey.co.uk/news.
